Andy Beadsworth, Oscar Strugstad, and Simon Fry Win the 2007 Etchells Worlds with a McLube Coated Hull!
Immediately after coating their Etchells Class racing hull with Team McLube Sailkote, this well organized team dominated the Etchells UK National Championship, and followed up with a World Championship winning performance in the 2007 Worlds.
Both regattas were recently held in Cowes, England in a wide variety of wind conditions including much of the worlds racing held in 25-35 knots of wind. "We've never been this fast downwind before," explained Oscar after winning the 2007 Worlds in convincing fashion with team mates Andy and Stir-Fry.
When asked about the secrets to their success Andy replied, "Preparation and hard work were definitely the keys to our success this year. We sailed well and we generally improved through the winter circuit in Miami, and then we stepped up our game significantly prior to the UK Nationals and Worlds." Stir-Fry explains in more detail, "We sprayed the hull with McLube and then lightly buffed it out to a very slick racing finish that lasted the entire two weeks of very hard sailing."
Congratulations to Andy, Oscar and Stir-Fry, the 2007 Etchells Class World Champions, on an impressive two weeks of very solid on the water performance.
