What are your thoughts about using Sailkote on life jackets to prevent mildew appearing? I sail quite a wet boat and this is always a problem for us.
    Would appreciate your thoughts

Great idea. This will work particularly well if the outer material of your life jacket (PFD) is a tight weave (similar to sail cloth). By applying 2-3 very light coatings of Sailkote to the outside material all over the entire lifejacket, you should minimize water absorption by approx 50%, additionally, the PFD should also dry nearly twice as fast as it normally would, and it will keep your life jackets much cleaner as dirt, grime, mold and mildew will not be able to stick to the coated material. This "Sailkoting" should last an entire season or more. I would recommend using very light spray coatings when you apply, because if you apply too much Sailkote at one time it may dull the appearance of the material as Sailkote is opaque by nature, not clear or invisible. Great idea!

Lastly, if you're interested in the world's best high performance anti-mildew coating for sails, I would recommend that you check out our Sailkote PLUS anti-mildew formula (see http://www.mclubemarine.com/sailkoteplus/). This product has been receiving extremely positive reviews, and is only applied by professional sailmakers and sail cleaning facilities around the globe (sold in 5 gallon pails and larger quantities).

Thanks again for the great suggestion!
